House of the Dragon Fans Agree on the Worst Episode of Season 2

As House of the Dragon prepares to enter its second finale, fans seem to be in agreement on which episode of Season 2 was the worst.

House of the Dragon has delivered a lot of great things over the course of its seven episodes, from the reveal of dragon seeds like Hugh Hammer to Aemond’s brutal attack on Aegon.

However, the show has seen a few low points, and fans have been debating which episode will take the “worst” crown as we head into the Season 2 finale.

One viewer even asked others to list their favorite and least favorite episodes of the season on Reddit, and the majority of the votes were that Episode 5 was the worst episode of Season 2.

For those who don’t remember, Episode 5 Season 2 saw the fallout from Rhaenys Targaryen’s death and how the Greens exposed their greatest weakness by parading Meleys’ head around King’s Landing.

Other highlights from the episode included Alicent being denied the regent position in favor of Aemond taking the throne, Daemon having a sexual dream about his mother, and the Riverlords condemning the Targaryen’s claim to the Iron Throne as penance for allowing the Blackwoods to slaughter the Brackens.

Many fans on the show’s subreddit listed Episode 5 as one of the biggest disappointments of Season 2, with one comment reading: “Episode 5 is much slower than Episode 6.”

Another fan wrote, “Episode 5 made me sleepy,” and a third agreed, writing, “Episode 5 was probably my least favorite episode. I still have trouble remembering what happened in that episode and I’ve rewatched it.”

However, some viewers defended the fifth entry. As one Reddit user posted, “Episode 5 felt tense even when there was no action.”

While fans agree that the Season 2 midseason episode was the worst of the promised eight episodes, House of the Dragon’s explosive finale may erase those bad memories.
