House of the Dragon Season 2 Finale Leaves Game of Thrones Fans With “PTSD”

Disappointed fans have criticized the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale for reliving the worst aspects of Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 8 has finally aired, wrapping up the show’s second run. While the finale did a lot to set up the upcoming Dance of the Dragons, the show’s longest episode to date was decidedly less climactic than fans had hoped.

The leak of the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale may have dampened the excitement. However, some fans of the show believe there wasn’t much excitement to dampen it.

The initial reaction to the episode from devoted viewers was that House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 8 was “boring.” The worst critics likened it to the Game of Thrones finale, which was notoriously disappointing for many.

Fans have flocked to give their thoughts on the House of the Dragon season 2 finale, and there are some pretty obvious concerns. Many criticized the episode for not having a climax, believing it was a symptom of the season’s eight-episode structure.

“Great episode, terrible ending. In a 10-episode season, this would have been the perfect 8, but in the current format, this ending is a disaster,” commented user One X. “It was a great episode, but there’s no reason it should be the season finale. This finale proves that HOTD needs 10 episodes,” replied another.

Some viewers didn’t even bother to give the episode a warning, criticizing the entire second season of House of the Dragon. “It was a filler season. Giving us PTSD from the GOT finale,” complained one fan. “Disappointing and boring, the whole season was just one giant filler episode,” another agreed.

Luckily for HBO, not everyone was disappointed with House of the Dragon Season 2 or its ending. Many fans praised the episode for effectively setting up Season 3, although the agonizing wait was still frequently mentioned, even in positive reviews.
