House of the Dragon will bring back the Greens most important character

House of the Dragon Season 2 will finally bring the most important member of the Greens back in time for the finale.

The Targaryen Civil War hasn’t been going well for the Greens, as Aegon is still on the brink of death, and in Season 2 Episode 6, Alicent was removed from her position on the small council.

While there’s no specific reason why the royal family has suffered so many losses, it’s safe to assume that their bad luck began when one of their strongest players was written off the show.

Thankfully, their fortunes could change in the final two episodes of the season, as Otto Hightower returns to King’s Landing.

Despite being the right-hand man of two Targaryen kings for over 30 years, Otto was dismissed by his nephew Aegon.

The two men clashed over how to handle the aftermath of Blood and Cheese’s murder of Aegon and Helaena’s son Jaehaerys.

While Otto wanted Aegon to handle the tragedy as a political move, the young king rebelled and ordered dozens of men killed without consulting him.

The pair had a heated argument, leading Aegon to dismiss his grandfather and replace him with Criston Cole.

Otto was then sent back to Oldtown, where he was supposed to remain with House Hightower, but Aemond, now serving as prince regent, recalled him to the capital at the end of Book 6.

Unlike his brother, Aemond recognized the value of Otto’s experience and wanted to secure his loyalty once more before the likes of Larys Strong attempted to usurp the position.

Fans were excited to see their favorite Hightower return as an image teased on X/Twitter read, “Aemond did one thing right and that was TELL OTTO FKING HIGHTOWER TO BECOME THE KING’S DEPUTY HAND FOR THE FOURTH FKING TIME.”

Another added, “Otto Hightower becoming the Batman of scheming government officials is not the twist I expected. With so many calls for his return, it seems like he’ll show up with the Infinity Stones.”
