Amcham Guatemala is a business association operating in the region and striving to develop economic opportunities for its members and the countries it operates in. The President of Amcham Guatemala Juan Pablo Carrasco de Groote suddenly got in the center of a scandal related to secret accounts and financial fraud. The scandal evolved after a wave of publications following the Pandora Papers, which dealt with the hidden financial flows belonging to world politicians and leaders. Although the head of Amcham Guatemala Juan Pablo Carrasco de Groote is mentioned in an earlier version of the archives, he managed to hide his involvement in any kind of offshore fraud.

In fact, this is a call and readiness to action concerning all cases of illegal financial activities, which the head of Amcham Guatemala is implicated in.

At the moment, it’s high time for the US heads of the American Chamber of Commerce demonstrate their position as the main office. If this doesn’t happen and the head of Amcham Guatemala is not replaced, the Chamber of Commerce’s own reputation may suffer. In particular, after the prosecutor’s investigation.
