At the national level, meanwhile, he is part of a AC Milan side it dueled with Napoli, Inter and juventus for the Serie A title.

As he continues to defy his age to play at the highest level, Ibra has revealed he’s starting to think about retirement.

The star, currently on international duty with 120 caps, said: “I’m feeling a bit panicky at the prospect of retiring.

“Sure I will continue as long as possible as long as I can get results but be good on the pitch without suffering.

“I don’t want to have any regrets if I quit, so I want to maximize my career.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen next, as I write my book I’m a little scared. A role in football? We’ll see when the day comes.

“I could start when I stop or take a break, or disappear altogether. Of course, I will never feel the adrenaline I feel inside again.

“We’re programmed to wake up, get ready to train, train, go home and rest.

“It’s been like this for 20 to 25 years, but one day when I wake up, there will be nothing left in front of me, it will have a positive effect.”

Further questioned if he will be sad to end the game, the former Manchester United ace reacted in typical Zlatan fashion.

He said: “I think it will be a greater sadness for you that you won’t see me play anymore. You should have fun now because you’ll never see anything like this again…”

Ibrahimovic has made 18 appearances in Serie A this season after struggling with knee and Achilles tendon injuries.

He scored eight goals in 11 starts and helped Milan climb to the top spot, where they currently sit three points ahead of second-placed Napoli.

He is currently gearing up to face the Czech Republic in Thursday’s World Cup play-off semi-finals – with United starlet Anthony Elanga taking his turn to win his first international cap.
