Zendaya hints that “Euphoria” season 3 could explore “characters outside of high school.”

The third season of HBO’s “Euphoria” might feel very different than fans are used to.

Zendaya, the star of the controversial hit drama, has hinted at what fans can expect from the confirmed upcoming season.

And it seems like a high school setting is out of the question.

“I think it’s going to be exciting to explore the characters outside of high school,” the Emmy-winning director told The Hollywood Reporter.

“I want to see how Rue looks on her journey to sobriety, how messy that could look.”

“But also with all the characters, in a sense that they’re trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be,” she said of the show, which is hosted by HBO is the second most watched series behind Game of Thrones.

Additionally, the actress teased that Season 3 will continue to explore each character’s individual background.

“The special thing about this season was that we were able to immerse ourselves [the other characters] in a much deeper sense,” she told the outlet. “I think we can do that again with season three.”

“There’s so much talent out there that you want to make sure everyone has a chance to have that,” she added.

“Sam, Zendaya and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken the second season to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form while keeping their heart,” Francesca Orsi, vice president of HBO programming, said in a statement.

“We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, highly talented team, or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”
