Zelda fans are demanding Wind Waker HD for Switch after Breath of the Wild 2 delay

Following the news that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has been postponed, fans are urging the developer to port Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD to Nintendo Switch.
Originally revealed during E3 2019, Breath of the Wild 2 has had a wild journey. A release was initially planned for 2022 and was then pushed back to spring 2023 on March 29.
With no The Legend of Zelda title appearing to be released in 2022, fans are demanding that Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD be ported from the Wii U to the Nintendo Switch to tide them over until then.

Is Breath of the Wild 2 finally getting a title this year?

After the BoTW 2 delay, players took to Twitter to voice their thoughts. One reiterated more than the rest that it’s time for the Wii U’s high-definition Zelda ports to hit the road the handheld console.
“But wait, does that mean we’re going to get Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD this year?” asked one fan. “If so, I don’t mind waiting at all. And the fact that BotW2 is releasing a full six years after BotW means they’re probably doing everything they can to make it the best game ever.”
“[Nintendo] wants at least one Zelda release a year,” wrote another. “Now 2022 is empty. Is the door for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess more open than ever?”
