Zebulon man dies after being shot multiple times: police

ZEBULON, NC (WNCN) — A 45-year-old man is dead after an early morning shooting in Zebulon Friday, police say.

Officers were called to the 200 block of West Barbee Street at approximately 1:45 a.m. in relation to a shooting

When officers responded, they learned that one person had been shot and was behind a house on Barbee Street.

Zebulon Police said officers found Porfirio “Sasha” Rodriquez in a back apartment, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Rodriguez died at the scene.

Zebulon police did not release any suspicious information or a possible motive.

After the shooting, Zebulon police warned the public of a heavy police presence on W. Barbee Street between S. Arendell Avenue and S. Wakefield Street.

“Please think of the family who lost a loved one,” Zebulon police said in a Facebook post.
