Yumi Nu responds to Jordan Peterson on the cover of Sports Illustrated

TikTokers were quick to shower the cover star with applause.

“You won because Jordan b. Peterson is leaving Twitter (hopefully) after being fired into the thread,” someone wrote, noting that Peterson said he was leaving the platform.

“Jordan Peterson single-handedly left Twitter. & looking AMAZING while doing it. Queeeen,” said another.

Despite some criticism from Twitter users, Peterson hit back at their criticism of his statement, saying, “It’s a deliberate progressive attempt to manipulate and reshape the notion of beauty that relies on the idiot philosophy that such preferences are learned from and changed properly, who knows better.”

While some people cast a shadow over Peterson’s own looks, others argued that Nu met beauty standards.

“dude, she’s hot” replied another Twitter user.

In a previous interview with The Post, Nu said it was “amazing” to appear on magazine covers.

“I’m on cloud nine,” she said. “It’s nothing I could prepare for. It’s unexpected. I feel like we’re at a point where people are making room for more diversity on the covers of magazines. It’s a big time for Asian American people in the media. I know I play a big role in representing body diversity and racial diversity and I love being a role model and representative of the plus-size Asian community.”

While the SI cover is her latest accomplishment, Nu, who grew up in New Jersey, Maryland and California, has also graced Vogue’s September issue as a cover model. She also appeared on the cover of Vogue Japan, snagging the groundbreaking title of the magazine’s first curvaceous Asian cover model.
