‘You’re in my heart’: Celine Dion fans send love to singer after announcing diagnosis

Celine Dion has received warm comments after revealing she has a rare neurological condition.

On Thursday (December 8), Dion revealed the news that she was forced to reschedule dates for her European tour after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome.

The 54-year-old shared an emotional video on her Instagram informing her fans that she has been diagnosed with the terminal illness.

Dion explained how she’s had the syndrome for some time, saying it’s affecting “every aspect of [her] Everyday”.

Since the video was posted, celebrities and fans from around the world have rushed to offer their congratulations.

“We love you so much,” commented Queer Eye’s JVN, while artist J MENA agreed, “We love you.”

Model Winnie Harlow wrote: “Your health is the most important thing! I pray for your recovery, happiness and renewed health.”

“You are in my heart! You always have been! May this sharing take a great burden off your shoulders and hasten your healing journey!” said Perez Hilton.

At the time of writing, almost 33,000 comments have been posted under Celine’s Instagram video, which was shared just hours before.

“You have a beautiful heart and a beautiful soul. Take the time you need and everyone will be waiting,” wrote another well-wisher.

In the tearful video, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer opened up about how she was “recently” diagnosed with “a very rare neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome,” which affects approximately one in a million people.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know that this is the reason for all the cramps I’ve had,” she added.

According to Dion, the syndrome affects her ability to perform, sing, and carry out everyday activities.

“Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulty in walking and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing in the way I’m used to,” she said.

The singer then announced the cancellation of eight of her summer shows scheduled for 2023 and rescheduled her spring 2023 shows to 2024.

She said it “hurt” her to have to postpone the tour originally scheduled for February.
