Woman shot dead in Raleigh early Sunday morning, police say

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – The Raleigh Police Department is investigating a shooting that police say happened early Sunday morning.

Around 2:21 a.m., officers said they were responding to a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of S. Saunders Street.

When they got to the scene, they reported finding a woman who had been shot.

She was taken to the hospital and her injuries are not life-threatening, police say.

They report that investigations show that the shooting did not take place where they were called, but that the 911 call was made there.

The police continue to investigate.

No charges were filed at this time.
