Woman shot dead: Detectives suspect claims that woman died by suicide west of Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Houston police spent many hours overnight questioning a man about the death of a woman in west Houston.

Around 7 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to a home on the 7600 block of Windswept Lane near Westpark Tollway to reports that a woman had shot herself.

But when detectives arrived, they said they discovered that things were not as originally reported.

“They found some things that didn’t match that,” said Lt. Larry Crowson. “At this point, we don’t know the actual cause of the gunshot wound.”

Police said a man who was in the home at the time of the shooting is being questioned. He is cooperating with the investigation.
