Woman finds son dying of gunshot wound to chest outside apartment in Southwest Houston, police say

According to HPD Lt. JP Horelica The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 10600 block of Beechnut.

The woman told police she was inside when she heard gunshots. Officials said she then went outside and found her 20-year-old son had been shot in the chest.

The man was taken to a hospital where he died, police said.

At the moment, police said they have no suspects in the investigation.

“Our only witness heard only one shot,” Horelica said.
