Wizkid Launches New Short Film ‘Made in Lagos (Deluxe)’

Wizkid brought along Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition Songs of a lifetime in a new short film. Directed by Kuukua Eshun and Wizkid herself, the work showcases the famous singer’s edgy fashion sense and commitment to brilliant cinematic art.

Acting as an extended music video, Made in Lagos (Deluxe) illustrates his latest hits: “Anoti”, “Mood” featuring Buju, another Nigerian play, and “Steady”. Its world is a world of neons and vivid pastels, ethereal woods, sandy plains and model-like women. Despite a loose plot, in which Wizkid pursues a charming stranger, this is primarily an aesthetic project.

The Made in Lagos (Deluxe) The video comes after Wizkid’s appearance on Burna Boy’s latest single, “B. d’Or. On December 1, Wiz wrapped up a three-time sold-out show at The O2 London, in which he and Burna Boy revealed the single’s arrival.

Wizkid’s last album, Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition, was released in August. It features a remix of his hit “Essence” featuring Tems and Justin Bieber. The song peaked at number 10 on the Hot 100, a rare feat for an African artist. “Nature” is Rolling Stone‘S best song of the year 2021.
