The History of Guild Wars

This franchise began in 2005 with Guild Wars Prophecies and by 2009 some six million units had been sold of this game and its follow-ups. Guild Wars 2 was released in 2012 and brought a more sophisticated and graphically impressive look to the screen. These changes helped the series to sell five million more copies by 2015.

This massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) gives players the option of choosing their character and then getting involved in gameplay that includes combat and co-operational elements. It has proven to be influential in the way that it doesn’t charge subscription fees.

What Does End of Dragons Involve?

This expansion pack looks likely to continue with the journey of the Pact Heroes, who are on the trail of the last remaining Elder Dragons in the land of Cantha. The trailer for End of Dragons shows us a dragon flying high in the skies over Cantha.

The Jade Forest in this region is going to be the setting for much of the action, along with Shing Jea Island. An Asian theme will be present in the images, while a Jade Bot and powered ziplines add to the action. Multiplayer combat on the Siege Turtle is one of the new features that will be introduced, with one player taking control of the turtle’s movements while the other can use its weapons.

The Rich History of Dragons in Games

There is a long list of video games featuring dragons among the main characters. For example, Emerald Dragon by Glodia and Dragon’s Crown by Vanillaware. Other high-profile games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link also feature these fire-breathing creatures.

It isn’t just limited to console games either, there are plenty of dragon-themed games available for mobile users. In terms of casino games, these mythical creatures appear in a number of popular slot games. These include Dragon King Legend of the Seas, Dragon Kingdom, and Dragon Shine. These slots feature paying symbols based on the theme and can be found alongside other themed slots featuring the likes of Norse Gods, gold mining, and fishing trips.

The World of Warcraft universe has also pitted players against dragons. This came in the third expansion pack, titled Cataclysm, which was released in 2010. A dragon named Deathwing the Destroyer from earlier in the series returned to cause confusion and mayhem across Azeroth. This character also acted as the final boss that players face.

What can we expect in the future? Games based on dragons have never disappeared, but they have gone through periods of being more or less popular. If the Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons game is a hit, then these creatures could make a return to center stage on more new releases than ever before.
