Whoopi Goldberg is still absent from The View

Whoopi Goldberg is still missing The view.

Surprising viewers first took notice on Monday’s (Nov. 14) episode, when both Goldberg and co-host Joy Behar were absent and co-host Sara Haines took charge.

When Goldberg isn’t around, Behar usually takes the anchor’s place.

However, during Tuesday’s broadcast, co-host Behar returned and announced that “unfortunately Whoopi is out with Covid.”

“So rest and come back here, Miss, when you’re feeling better,” she said as she took the place that Goldberg normally occupied.

A speaker for The view said EW that Goldberg was unwell ahead of Monday’s show and tested positive that afternoon.

Goldberg was again absent from Thursday’s (Nov. 17) broadcast, with Behar repeating that the EGOT winner was still dealing with Covid.

Co-host Sunny Hostin was also absent, but Behar didn’t seem sure why.

Goldberg turned 67 on November 13 and last appeared on the show on November 10, celebrating her birthday early.

This is the second time this year that Goldberg has tested positive for Covid, having first contracted the virus in January.

During her first battle with Covid, she performed The view from home and told her fellow panelists that it was a “shock” to test positive for Covid as she had had three shots and she had “been nowhere” and “done nothing”.

“It’s one of those things where you think I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do… Yeah, it’s not stopping Omicron,” she said of the rapidly spreading variant of Covid at the time, according to ABC News.

The view airs weekdays at 11 p.m. ET on ABC.
