Who voted against the UN resolution?

On Wednesdays, a total of 141 of the 193 member states voted for the resolution.

However, 35 countries abstained and a total of five countries voted against the resolution.

The emergency session involved voting against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and calling for the immediate withdrawal of forces.

The following countries voted in favor of Moscow: Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria.

The following US allies, Cuba and Nicaragua, joined China in abstaining.

The The UN resolution states that that the United Nations: “expressed in the strongest terms the aggression of the Russian Federation towards Ukraine.”

It also demanded that “the Russian Federation immediately cease using force against Ukraine” and “immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all of its military forces.”
