Masked singer is officially underway with viewers trying to figure out the famous faces behind the outlandish outfits.
Play Hit ITV the reality series – which saw stars dressed in elaborate costumes and performing cover songs in front of a panel of judges, who tried to decipher their identities using clues – was returned to the screen earlier this month.
This year’s jury included Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan.
Snow Leopard, Chandelier and Lionfish were sent home.
Nine celebrities are still racing to be crowned this year’s champion Masked singer.
Who is Poodle?
This furry friend gave a winning performance of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” on Saturday’s episode of Masked singer (1 January).
Poodle’s VT gave viewers a lot of clues to find out. Suggestions include references to queens, performers, brilliance, and dogs. The character also nods to the Royal Variety Performance.
“I’ve always loved glitz and I’m not afraid to tell you that glitz is a bit of a fantasy. That’s something I’ve always admired,” the character said.
They added: “I can’t wait to let go of the laces in this competition. I am very eager to get started. Are you ready for me? Ruff! ” In their final clue, the Poodle said, “I used to take a very long walk.”
Some viewers on Twitter speculated that Paul O’Grady could be the Poodle because the comedian and broadcaster presented a show called For the love of dogs.
O’Grady has also performed as Lily Savage for many years. He has also starred in the Royal Variety Performance.
However, other viewers thought that Poodle sounded like Gary Barlow American accent.

On Saturday (January 15), the Poodle showed his animal identity by singing “What’s New Pussycat?” By Tom Jones.
His VT contains more dog references, with the enigmatic character stating that he is an authorized “no ordinary monster” and has been “well trained”. Poodle also said that he had been stoned in the past by the press and that he was “no stranger to dog collars”.
The judges were impressed, with McCall saying that if Poodle wasn’t a singer they would have “done the wrong thing” before guessing on Rylan. Gilligan thinks he’s Snoop Dogg, Ross tells Peter Crouch and Ora to go find Mika.
Based on the last comment, Twitter users have come to believe that Poodle is the Reverend Richard Coles, who performed with The Communards.
“Oi @RevRichardColes are you a poodle?” tweeted fellow Reverend TV vicar Kate Bottley.
According to Betfair, O’Grady is more likely to be revealed as a Poodle. You can see the odds below.
