THE new Starstruck singing competition is on ITV with a celebrity panel of judges.
With a similar format to the once hit TV show Stars In Their Eyes, here’s who you can expect to make the judging panel.
Who is on the jury for Starstruck on ITV?
Adam Mitchel Lambert is a 40-year-old American singer-songwriter.
He is a former American Idol runner-up and even toured with legendary rock band Queen.
As of 2009, Adam has sold over three million albums and five million singles worldwide.
Speaking about what Starstruck is about, he said, “I think everyone who sees Starstruck is going to have a great time. There’s something for everyone, there’s something for all tastes in music and all ages, which is really exciting, and I think it’s really easy to see yourself on the show. I mean, these are regular people who have regular jobs and can live out their imaginations, which is really exciting.”
No Return star Sheridan Smith is a 40-year-old English actress, singer and presenter.
She rose to fame as Ralf Little’s girlfriend on The Royle Family in 1999 and won a Bafta Award in 2012 for her role as gangster Ronnie Biggs’ wife on Mrs Biggs.
Speaking ahead of the show, Smith discussed her decision to try out a judge role for the first time, she said, “I think maybe I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone of being an actress.
“When I push myself out of my comfort zone, that’s good. I was very flattered when asked if I could be honest because they could have had anyone, but I love it.”
Beverly Knight is a 48-year-old English recording artist and musical theater actress.
She has won three MOBO Awards, won Best R&B Act twice, and won Best Album for Prodigal Sista in 1999.
Widely regarded as one of Britain’s greatest soul singers, she is best known for her hit singles “Greatest Day”, “Get Up!”, “Shoulda Woulda Coulda” and “Come as You Are”.
Jason John Manford is a 40-year-old English comedian, presenter, actor and singer.
From 2007 to 2010 he was team captain on the Channel 4 panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats.
He has since presented a number of TV shows for the BBC and ITV including Comedy Rocks (2010-2011), The One Show (2010), Show Me the Funny (2011), A Question of Sport: Super Saturday (2014) and Bigheads (2017).
When is Starstruck on ITV?
Starstruck continues on Saturday 5 March at 8.30pm on ITV.
There will be a total of six episodes in the series.
All broadcast episodes will then be available to stream via the ITV Hub.
