News anchor Kasie Hunt joins CNN+ after undergoing brain surgery to remove a benign tumor.
CNN announced in August 2021 that Hunt would join as the first official presenter for the network’s upcoming streaming service CNN+.

NBC News and MSNBC Vet Kasie Hunt was hired by CNN as Anchor and Chief National Affairs Analyst.
According to news network WarnerMedia, Hunt is the first official anchor for CNN+a new streaming service released on March 29th.
Hunt will host a daily politics show exploring her experiences of presidential campaigns and Congress.
Sharing the news on Twitter, she wrote, “Can’t wait to join the team of incredible journalists @CNN – I’m so excited to be a part of the launch of @CNNplus and the future of streaming news – my new political.” Show is coming in 2022!”

On July 16, 2021, MSNBC’s Hunt Way Too Early closed announce their departure.
During her last broadcast, she told viewers that she would be providing more information on her future position “in the coming weeks.”
In her post, she referenced the Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski, who wrote the best-selling motivational book Know Your Value: Women, Money and Getting What Your Worth.
“I just want to thank everyone at NBC News, at MSNBC and of course Mika for always insisting that you know your worth,” she wrote.
CNN reportedly poached Hunt from NBC with a higher salary offer estimated at $1 million to $1.5 million.
What surgery did Kasie Hunt have?
In October 2021, Kasie revealed in an interview with People in October that she had to undergo surgery to remove a benign brain tumor.
She said doctors initially thought she had migraines, but when she started feeling worse in August, CT scans showed a small growth that turned out to be a benign tumor.
After announcing her return to CNN+ on March 29, Hunt shared People“I think going through something like that gives you perspective on what’s important in life. That really opens your eyes.
“I am 36 years old. Most people aren’t that unhappy — or happy, depending on how you look at it — to be confronted with their own mortality and figuring out how to put the right things in the right order at that point in life.”
When is Kasie Hunt returning to CNN?
Hunt returned to CNN on March 29 after recovering from the 4-hour surgery to remove her tumor.
“I’m doing well. I now regularly forget that I had brain surgery, which feels like a great achievement,” he told People. “It took me a while to get there, but it’s a really great place and I just feel incredibly lucky.”
The new CNN+ series, The Source with Kasie Hunt, will take a close look at politics in Washington DC, delving into the policies being implemented and what they might mean for the country.
She said she hopes to bring people back around the table to discuss politics after a turbulent few years that divided the country and caused some to turn away from political talks.
“There’s a lot of people who turned away from politics because it was a rough place,” she said.
“What I hope is that on my CNN+ show, people will find a place where – and I think we were all reminded when we saw this real war in Ukraine – politics is not war. It’s politics … The division of our politics at the moment has made it hard to remember at times,” she said.
