Apex Legends: Defiance is well underway, but it’s never too early to anticipate what’s next. Here’s everything we know about when Defiance will end and when Season 13 will be released.
Season 12: Defiance launched in Apex Legends on February 2nd, bringing changes to the Olympus map, the Rebel Warlord Mad Maggie, and the 9v9 control mode.
However, once a season begins, it’s time to move forward to what’s next, and players are already speculating as to what Respawn has in the pipeline.
So let’s take a look at everything we know about Apex Legends Season 13 and when we can expect it to go live.

When does Apex Legends season 13 start?

New seasons of Apex Legends typically come out every three months.
Apex Legends Season 13 begins Tuesday, May 10th – three months after the launch of Defiance. This applies as long as Respawn sticks to the regular schedule. However, some seasons, like season 3, have been longer due to postponements.
Apex Legends Defiance launched on February 8th and as always had a new Seasonal Battle Pass. This reward track includes a countdown timer in days showing how the season is expected to last.
Keep in mind that Season 13 could arrive a few days before or after that date, but at least it tells us to expect the new Legend, Battle Pass, and all content to be released in early May.
What’s coming in Apex Legends Season 13?

Season 13 of Apex Legends is scheduled to go live in May.
With Season 12 just released, the developers remain excited to see what’s to come in the next major update. That said, there’s a lot of information we can already piece together as to what they might have planned.
New legend
The new Legend for Season 13 is far from confirmed, but there are leaks pointing to two potential new characters.

Blisk as seen in the cinema trailer.
Another option is a leaked legend called “Hawk”. This character was leaked shortly after the Season 12 update. According to the leak, this character has a sniper-focused kit with a sniper ultimate and long-range perks for his passives.
New weapon
We didn’t get a new weapon in Season 12, so we’d definitely expect a new addition to the loot pool for Season 13. There are two potential weapons for this as well.
The first is the “Nemesis Burst AR” that Respawn actually accidentally leaked itself.
The second is the Fanatic Energy Pistol, which was leaked via a gameplay clip that surfaced online.
Shooting range update
Something we’ve been waiting for for a number of seasons is an update to the Shooting Range, which has remained largely untouched since its release in 2019.
In the leaked footage of the Fanatic Energy Pistol, the shooting range had some notable changes, including the ability to shift the position of the dummies. It’s possible these options will make it into the live game for Season 13.
Return from World’s Edge

The two fragments are usually hot drops in Apex Legends.
For Season 12, World’s Edge has been completely removed from the map pool. Respawn is unlikely to keep such a popular map out of rotation for two seasons in a row, so we’d expect it to come back for Season 13.
However, it’s likely to get some map updates before it returns. A likely possibility is that Fragment will be removed – much like Skull Town on Kings Canyon, Respawn doesn’t like it when one location on a map becomes too dominant.
For now, it only remains to wait for an official announcement or any leaks that will surface before May. We’ll update this article as new information about Season 13 is released.
