‘Wheel of Fortune’ wrestler defends Pat Sajak attack

Pat Sajak could have a new career in WWE.

The Wheel of Fortune host, 76, shockingly wrestled contestant Fred Jackson on Tuesday’s episode of the long-running game show.

During the wild moment, Sajak Johnson, who is a professional wrestler and acting coach, jokingly put in a chokehold and twisted his arm behind his back.

While the move shocked game show fans, Jackson defended Sajak’s actions and slammed trolls for hating him.

“I loved that moment,” the player told TMZ on Friday. “That was one of the biggest highlights of the show.”

Jackson, who won the Hawaiian episode, said critics were too harsh on Sajak, who has hosted the show since 1981.

“To see the criticism [Sajak] going online is a little unfair. I was the one put in the hold and I was totally fine with that. I loved it,” Johnson explained.

He then advised viewers to “don’t get more upset than I am” about the incident.

“I was the one who was ‘affected’ in that way,” he said.

“Everyone has a different sense of humor, but calling it ‘twitch’ or calling for his retirement takes it a little too seriously,” the teacher continued.

He also recalled the moment, saying it was “organic” and unplanned.

“I was so excited after my win and Pat just appeared out of nowhere behind me and I really tried to counter him. But he held me so tight I didn’t want to go anywhere,” he said.

And as it turned out, Sajak executed the wrestling move well.

“I’ve been in enough hammerlocks in my wrestling career to know it doesn’t necessarily hurt, but he had me pretty tight,” Johnson said.

“Sajak is stronger than he looks,” he joked. “I think he has more talent for pro wrestling than anyone gave him credit for.”

On Wednesday’s episode, Sajak got very angry when a contestant named Nicole spun the wheel too many times for his liking.

The Georgia native attempted to solve the sentence under the Same Name category, and he scolded her for just “solving the damn puzzle.”

A Georgia native, Nicole earned a total of $28,000 by the end of the show, but she failed to win the grand prize of a Hawaii vacation.

While she guessed most of the letters and every vowel needed, Sajak apparently urged her to say the answer in full rather than spin again.

The green letter board then said: “COCONUT & COU__ SYRUP” and after a few turns, Nicole answered the riddle correctly.

“We appreciate you pretending you didn’t know until the end. You added drama and that was great,” Sajak sneered, thinking Nicole knew he was just teasing her.
