A lifetime opportunity given to a contestant on The Voice.
The Voice season 21 finale premieres Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
What does the winner of The Voice receive?
With five contestants remaining, the season 21 winner, A Girl named Tom, was chosen through fan votes on Tuesday night.
The Voice is crowned Orange Anthony was its season 20 winner.
The winner of each season of The Voice reportedly received $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
For comparison, American Idol winners reportedly earn $250,000, plus $1,000 in weekly spend recording their albums.
However, sometimes the famous coach of The Voice champion offers other perks to the champion.
Judge Blake Shelton took the winners of his team on tour with him and tried to push Universal Music Group to properly promote their records.
Is there a contract clause for the contestants?
For the contestants, the cash prize is said to be tied to it.
In 2014, New York Daily News announced that if a contestant violates the contract they signed with the network, they will not give up the prize.

Any contestant who discloses the show’s contract details could be sued for between $100,000 and $1 million.
According to the agency, contestants are paid a small stipend to cover costs during the filming of the show, but they give up some basic legal protections when they agree to film with the star.
The contract stipulates that the show can change the rules at any time, disqualifying contestants even if they’re winning through public voting, and completely bypassing the show’s voting system, including including the sale of contestant songs.
What do previous winners say about their contract with the record label?
The Voice winners have previously complained that despite winning the recording contract, they did not win the support of the label.
Alisan Porter from season 10 told New York Post: “I know I won’t be the next Ariana Grande, but when you’re in the same studio with Ariana Grande or people like that, that’s their motivation.”
Winner Sawyer Fredericks also told the Post, “I feel like they’re trying to cut the cookie every single person that came out of The Voice” because they thought they were all the same.
“I don’t think they take the time to figure out what kind of artist I am.”
Even The Voice coaches criticized the brand’s treatment of the show’s winners.
Former coach Adam Levine told Howard Stern, “we did a lot of great things for these singers, and then they went to a record label … that was amazing.”
