The City Hall added: “The severity of the consequences associated with a major incident has the potential to limit or complicate the ability of those to respond to resources and manage the incident.”

No new measures have been introduced so far.

Khan has urged Londoners to head in if they haven’t already done so.

“We know that vaccines provide our best protection against the virus,” he said.

What does a major breakdown mean for the NHS?

Major incidents require a special response from emergency services and often involve more than one agency implementing emergency arrangements.

In practice, this means that resources will be redeployed and the government may be asked to step in and help.

It means that services cannot function as they should and are placed in an emergency situation.

To limit infections and save Christmas, Britons have been urged to come forward and get their boosted stabs or by Reservations on the NHS portal or to walking centers.

The Sun is also asking readers to subscribe to Jabs Army to make the rollout go as smooth and fast as possible.

Mr Khan announced a major incident in the capital earlier this year on 8 January amid increased cases – but it was stalled on 26 February due to a drop in numbers.
