KURT Zouma’s two cats “will remain in care after being examined by a veterinarian”, the RSPCA confirmed.
The West Ham defender, 27, has had his pet seized following horrifying clip of him dropping the ball and slapping one of the cats at his £2million mansion.
The animal welfare charity has now confirmed that the cats will remain in care while the poll continues.
And the cats were taken from a football player shame not for replacement.
A “full and thorough” investigation into Zouma’s animal abuse is still underway.
A spokesperson for the RSPCA said: “Two cats are in our care, have been seen by a veterinarian and are being cared for.
“They will remain in our care while the investigation continues and are not available for repair even though we have many beautiful cats looking for new homes.
“We understand the high level of concern in this incident and can reassure you that our experienced officers are carrying out a full and thorough investigation.
“As this is a face-to-face investigation, we are limited in what we can say, however we will provide updates when possible.”
Meanwhile, an online petition calls on the Met Police to launch an investigation into the clip So far, more than 150,000 signatures have been collected.
But the crisis is only deepening for Zouma.
He lost his Adidas shoe sponsorship, and Police in France say he could face four years behind bars.
The defender made a cryptic apology and said both of his cats are “absolutely fine”.
“I want to apologize for my actions. There are no excuses for my behaviorwhich I truly regret,” he said.
“I also want to deeply apologize to anyone who was upset by the video. I can assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy.
“They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behavior is an isolated incident that will not happen again.”
