Similarly, Brook tried unsuccessfully in his attempt to get his British opponent into the ring and appeared to have missed out forever.

But they eventually agreed to terms that made for a thrilling night at the Manchester Arena, where Brook finally proved himself right.

He dominated Khan to win in six rounds and talk at the post-match press conference soon turned around – or who – next for the former IBF champion.

But it was longtime trainer Ingle who threw boxing legend Mayweather out there.

He told promoter Ben Shalom: “Wherever there are any more fights, whether he needs to do anything more is another matter.

“Because you are always remembered in your last fight. But in this performance, both 35 years old, they are not spring chickens.

“There needs to be some good fights out there. I think maybe take Mayweather out of retirement and we’ll get that fight.”

Mayweather, 44, officially retired in 2017 after a cash win over UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 33.

But the richest boxer of all time has returned to the ring twice, both in wits.

The first match was in Tokyo on New Year’s Eve 2018, defeating Japanese boxer Tenshin Nasukawa, 23, in a round.

Then last June he was far beyond by YouTube star Logan Paul26 years old, weight TWO STONES much more to compensate for the skill disparity too far.

Mayweather in December held a press conference to say he would fight on top of the Hotel Burj Al Arab Jumeirah HELIPAD.

Vlogger Middle East Money Kicks – real name is Rashed Belhasa – negotiating to become a rival But the talks broke down.

So Brook’s coach suggested Brit as a replacement, even if it was an exhibition protesting the rift at the Americans’ 50-0 record.

Ingle said: “He seems to want to fight everyone who isn’t a boxer. But why not? If it can be done then obviously Ben you are the man.”

“You’re the new man on the block, so contact Floyd and whether it’s an exhibit or a fight, it could be something we can do.”
