“Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega reveals she used to autopsy animals

Jenna Ortega, star of Netflix horror comedy Wednesday, has always been a “crazy.”
The 20-year-old actress revealed during Wired’s Autocomplete interview series on YouTube that she and Dance Moms alumna Maddie Ziegler, also 20, built their bond on their uniqueness.
“She’s one of my best friends ever,” Ortega said. “She was someone I clicked with immediately. We did a movie called The Fallout a few years ago and I feel like Maddie and I are the same person in different fonts.
“She’s such a weirdo and I’m a weirdo in the way I used to do autopsies on small animals when I was younger,” she continued. “Little lizards I found dead in my garden. She’s a lunatic in the sense that she breaks into characters or moves or pulls faces. Your comedic timing is so underrated. She makes me laugh. We’re having a good time. We’re really weird together.”
Ortega has admitted she can be a little crazy. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the You actress recalled her experience with Christina Ricci – who played Wednesday Addams in the 1991 film The Addams Family and its 1993 sequel – on the new series.

“I feel like I personally did it a bit weird. She was really sweet about it. Me? It was one of the most embarrassing experiences I’ve ever had,” Ortega said. “I think socially it can be difficult to communicate with me at times. And sometimes I would say something jokingly, and I think I have a very dark sense of humor, and she would say, ‘Uh, that’s dark.’ “
Wednesday – starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Fred Armisen and Isaac Ordonez – is streaming now on Netflix.
