Wednesday beats Dahmer to become the third show to ever hit a major Netflix milestone

Wednesday has reached a major milestone in its third week of streaming on Netflix.

The series, which launched on the platform on November 23, is one of only three programs to have racked up a billion views in its first month.

Only Squid Game and stranger things Season four has matched this feat before.

Wednesday is surpassed Dahmer – Monsters: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer to become the second most-watched English-language Netflix program, behind stranger things.

The series stars Jenna Ortega as the character of the same name and the daughter of the Addams Family.

Corresponding diversity, Netflix measures its most popular list by the number of hours watched in the first 28 days of availability. This time saw dahmerstarring Evan Peters as the serial killer of the same name, reach 856.2 million hours.

Wednesday has surpassed that number and has one week left to reach the monthly mark on the platform.

However, it needs to accumulate 352.1 million views by Wednesday, December 21 to surpass the first month’s views stranger things Season four, volume one.

Ortega has received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the deadpan character, while the series has received an overall 86 percent positive feedback on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

This makes it the highest rated Addams family Adaptation since the original 1960s TV series.

Elsewhere, the first part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s documentary series, Harry and Meganwas the second most viewed episode title on Netflix for the past week.

Data from the streaming platform showed that 81.6 million hours of the program were watched in its first four days of availability – making it the streamer’s biggest documentary debut to date.
