Ways of Parts NAVI with GeneRaL

NAVI has undergone a roster change following a poor performance in Tour 1 of Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Eastern Europe (EEU) 2021-22: Division 1. In a blog on its website, the organization announced that they broke up with offlaner Viktor”Shared“Nigrini. GeneraL is currently a free agent and is open to offers from other teams. NAVI also revealed that coach Ivan”Artistic style“Antonov resigned in mid-January, however, he remains with the organization. It is currently unclear what Artstyle’s new role in the organization will be.

NAVI looking for a new offlaner after parting with GeneRaL

In it blog posts, NAVI singled out their lackluster performance on Tour 1 and cited a disconnect between players’ ideas about the game as the reason for the roster change. “During the matches of last season, it was clear that the players’ views on the tactical component of Dota 2 differed significantly. The situation only got worse after the end of the bootcamp when the players returned home”. organization wrote.

GeneRaL’s departure reduces NAVI’s team to four.

  1. Ali”V-Tune” Vorobey

  2. Vladimir”Is not[o]ne“Minenko

  3. TBD

  4. Ilya”ALOHADANCE“Korobkin

  5. Alexey”Duel“Berezin

In addition, with Artstyle no longer being the coach, Solo is now responsible for “Preparations, drafts and game plans.” Artstyle’s new role in the group will be announced soon.

Solo about GeneRaL’s departure and finding a new offlaner

Solo detailed the cause of GeneRAL’s death in a video posted by NAVI. He says that players’ understanding of the game is not up to the mark and the problem is enhanced when they leave bootcamp and start playing online. When efforts have been made to eliminate this disconnection, it is clear that “very difficult or even impossible to do” Solo said.

From Solo’s point of view, GeneRaL is a great Dota 2 offlaner with a large hero pool. He said that the current meta doesn’t sit well with GeneRaL, but he believes he will take the lead in the next patch. However, since Solo and GenerRal have completely different views on the game, changes have to be made. Solo said the remaining four players, including him, are committed to working together.

Since no[o]ne and V-Tune are core players with a more greedy playstyle, Solo said they are currently looking for an offlaner that primarily creates space for two cores.

He also admitted that the team is likely to change up more lineups in the future, based on performance, but for now, all four players are sticking together.

This is the third branch of GeneRaL with NAVI. He was initially part of the team from February 2016 to September 2018 and then from September 2020 to April 2021 when he was moved to the team’s inactive list. In April 2021, the player was dropped from the active squad due to internal problems within the team. Five months after being dropped from the active roster, he was reinstated to the squad with an improved roster in September 2021.

Besides Tour 1 of DPC 2021-22 where NAVI finished 5th, its improved roster also placed 7th/8th in OGA Dota PIT Season 5, 2nd in Dota 2 Champions League S6 and 5th in Dota 2 Champions League S7 for the past four months.

NAVI now has about ten days to figure out who its newcomer will be, from the closing date of the list of February 27.
