Wanderer snaps ‘ghostly figure’ on mountain and turns out to be rare phenomenon

A HIKER photographed a “ghostly figure” climbing a mountain in what turned out to be a rare phenomenon.
Thomas Swallow, 39, was leading his friends when he turned to see a figure hovering high above the ground.
But he was actually looking at his own reflection on Great End in the sea area.
The phenomenon is rare optical Ilusion known as the chunk specter, in which a large shadow is cast on clouds or fog.
Thomas, from Manchestersaid: “I was a bit taken aback. It’s really beautiful.
“It looks like a figure floating in the sky, it looks quite spiritual.

“It was weird, surreal and a really beautiful moment – I was looking down from the summit into a gully, the sun was behind me and was shining brightly.
“It was an overcast day, so the clouds were moving in and out of the summit.
“I could see particles of moisture in the air when I looked up and I saw my shadow in the middle of a rainbow.
“I was in the moment and I enjoyed thinking, ‘I’ve never seen anything like this before’.”
He continued, “People have been saying what an amazing and beautiful shot it is and how it looks like a figure floating in the sky.
“I’m not religious, but I’m a little bit spiritual and I didn’t realize how spiritual it was until I thought about it afterwards.”
Thomas and friends Adam Maxwell, 27, and Matthew Buck, 39, then continued their six-hour walk.
They stopped and watched for up to 15 minutes, taking many photos of the illusion, which was discovered in December.
Last month we told how a woman discovered an eerie figure on her TV screen.
Esmerelda can be seen in a self-recorded video relaxing alone on her sofa, but as she pans the camera to her TV, it seems like she’s not alone.

And last year, a mother was convinced her home was haunted after a A ghostly figure appeared in the background of a photo She took with friend.
Rebecca Glassborow, 30, said she couldn’t sleep after seeing it.
