A short recap of Season 2 Episode 3

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 3 was titled “Snake” and started with Fox and Badger (two of the bodyguards protecting the farm) getting Olmar drunk. However, Olmar becomes depressed at the thought of them never actually working and challenges them to a dual.

Ironically, Fox weaves his way out of the fight and suggests that the only way for Olmar to become a man is for him to kill someone; and that he knows the perfect target.

Meanwhile, in the barn, Thorfinn wakes up screaming from a nightmare involving Einar. The two go to wash their faces at a nearby fountain and meet Arnheid, the beautiful woman who caused Einar to lose his composure in front of Ketil in the last episode; She explains that she is Ketil’s personal maid.

Fox and Badger arrive and ask Thorfinn and Einar to follow them to Olmar, who is in the bodyguard camp with a sword. Einar is outraged that they would threaten to kill her for a reason as simple as some sort of ‘right of passage’ and goes off to attack Olmar; Yell at Thorfinn to flee while he can.

Thorfinn says that Olmar can kill him if he lets Einar go, causing the whole group to burst out laughing. At the same time, a man named Snake wakes up in a barn and slowly returns to the camp to find some food.

When he arrives, he finds the bodyguards berating Thorfinn for his depressed statements, with Fox saying he needs to teach him a lesson about what fear really feels like. Fox starts slashing Thorfinn and even cuts off part of his left ear!

Suddenly, Snake joins the fight and punches Fox in the face before demanding Badger tell them what’s going on.
