Viewers of THE Larkins can’t help but be horrified as Pop Larkin is at the center of a terrifying duel with a gun-wielding thief.
Golden-hearted wheel dealer Pop – played by Bradley Walsh – helped investigate a series of burglaries taking place in the village this Christmas.
The residents pointed at ex Ambrose Nunn, believing him to be the culprit.
The growing list of victims, including Miss Pilchester, the Norman and Johnny Delamere, had been robbed.
While PC Harness applies his limited gifts to find the thief, Pop declares that he will get to the bottom of it and “save Christmas”.
He goes with the police to interrogate Nunn, but he is unkind to the accusations and angrily pushes Pop up against the wall..
However, Nunn later broke down and explained that he couldn’t find any work and was worried because the whole village hated them – but was adamant that he wasn’t the violator.
But Pop is still on a mission to find the culprit and set traps to catch him.
When residents gathered to watch Christmas, Pop remained at the local corner store, where he kept a low profit and waited for the lawbreaker to arrive.
To Pop’s shock, Nunn’s teenage son Roy returns with his giant bag and is caught red-handed.
The youngster admitted that he committed the thefts because he was fed up with poverty.
With the intention of silencing Pop’s mouth, Roy pulled out his gun and began to swing it.
He then shoots the floor to show he has business intentions.
Pop was forced to talk to the agitated boy, but the pair got into a scuffle with guns.
Viewers were shocked to see blood splattered on the sidewalk outside the store and feared for Pop’s life.
One person wrote: “Don’t expect a shooting during the Christmas special.”
Fortunately, Pop was able to get out unharmed and join his family at Nativity.
He later revealed that the stolen items were found in a warehouse and returned the items to the residents.
Viewers found Roy looking smug as he smirked thinking he’d gotten away with it.
Meanwhile, Mariette and Charley return to their normal village.
Pop and Ma were overjoyed to have the pair back, but when Charley’s parents went to see the Larkin clan – Charley was unhappy.
Mariette meets Charley’s parents for the first time but after getting lucky on the farm, she fails to impress them.
However, after a few days together, Larkins won the attention of his parents and Mariette and Charley pleased both families by getting engaged.
Elsewhere, entire villages were left without lights and heating after the power was cut, but the Larkins saved Christmas with their farm generator and the village relocated Christmas to there.
