Video shows the moment the 7-year-old boy and his father were hit by BB pellets in a possible hate crime

New video shows the moment a 7-year-old boy and his father were hit by BB bullets in an incident on Staten Island that authorities are investigating as a possible anti-Semitic hate crime.
The father and son – in traditional Jewish costume – were returning a shopping trolley outside the Kosher Island market in the Meiers Corners neighborhood when someone shot at them from a passing black sports car around 4:20pm on Sunday, police said the filming.

The boy visibly crouched and turned to face his father, who tended to him after the blow, according to video released by the Shmira Public Safety Patrol.
The father was hit in the chest and the boy’s ear was scraped. Both were treated with minor injuries, police said.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident, the department confirmed Monday.

The suspect – who said nothing to the father and young son – drove a black Ford Mustang with no license plates and fled up Victory Boulevard towards Richmond Avenue.
The shooter was still at large as of Monday.
