Video shows the moment a gunman opened fire during an ambush in broad daylight that killed a Bronx teenager on a scooter on Saturday, police said.
Melvin Urena, 19, was shot and killed around 1:30 p.m. while driving past 429 E. 156th St., cops said. Two men then got out of a gray late-model Honda Pilot and at least one of them shot him multiple times with a gun, police officers said.
Video shows one of the men jumping out of the vehicle’s rear passenger seat, waving his gun, which appears to have an extended magazine, and shooting wildly into the street. Another man jumps off the driver’s side of the car and raises his hand as if he’s about to shoot as well, but it’s not clear if he’s actually firing a gun.
Urena was shot once in the head and once in the right leg and was transported to Lincoln Hospital, where he died, according to police. The men fled back into their vehicle and headed east on East 156 Street.
