Victoria Beckham had to weigh herself live on TV after the baby

Victoria Beckham didn’t do “Wannabe” to a live TV audience in the late 1990s.

But sadly, the 48-year-old Spice Girls member was forced to weigh herself on British chat show TFI Friday in May 1999 – just two months after she welcomed son Brooklyn.

Posh Spice recalled the embarrassing event during an interview with Vogue Australia.

“I was on a TV show with Chris Evans many years ago and had just lost a lot of weight in Brooklyn and after that,” the designer said of the humiliating incident. “This happened to my mother after her pregnancies. It doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder. And he made me stand on the scales to be weighed.”

“Can you imagine that today?” Beckham added.

In the clip, Evans, 56, asked the England superstar about her new baby and her husband, footballer David Beckham. “A lot of girls want to know, because you look amazing again, how did you get back in shape after giving birth?” Evans asked.

Beckham revealed at the time that she didn’t exercise as much because she was “lazy.”

The radio host then asked if her weight was “back to normal.” The fashion icon determined her weight was okay, and Evans pulled a body scale from under his desk.

He urged her to go along with it, begging her, “May I look, do you mind?”

Beckham, who described the stunt as “terrible,” embarrassed himself to step on the scale and Evans revealed the number to his audience. “Eight stones [112 lbs.] not bad at all, is it?” he said at the time.

Beckham also opened up about the names they’ve been called throughout their careers in their interview with the Australian publication.

“I had Porky Posh, I had Skeletal Posh. After I had Brooklyn, there was a picture that pointed to every single part of my body that I needed to focus on to lose weight,” she said.

The mother-of-four also told Grazia earlier this year that the idea of being too skinny was “old-fashioned”.

Beckham – who likes to eat “whole wheat toast with salt on it” – explained that women these days “want to look healthy and curvy. They want boobs – and a butt.”

When asked about her own small physique, she replied, “It’s not about being a specific size. It’s about knowing who you are and being content with who you are. I’ve found my own balance between wanting to have fun and disciplining myself to eat healthy and exercise. When you’re younger you struggle against that balance, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve reached a point where I know what that balance looks like. I just know what works for me.”
