Veteran game developers make up new stories

A team of veteran game developers who previously worked for companies like Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Sega, announced New Tales – a publishing house and development studio based in Paris.

With careers spanning an average of two decades, the founders of New Tales have worked on well-known brands including Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

What’s New Tales Are Working?

New Tales is currently building out its development capabilities to produce its own IPs so it doesn’t appear to have anything in active development. However, it has already started collaborating with other developers to publish their games. According to New Tales president and CEO, Cedric Marechal, the games industry is seeing a rapid increase in new releases, with many developers seeking publishing support. New Tales aims to be “a one-stop publishing solution where we will work with developers, as a unified team, dedicated to maximizing success”.

Who told the story including

Marechal previously served as senior vice president of international affairs at Activision Blizzard, and so did chief executive officer Benoit Dufour. Its game development senior advisor, Julia Humphreys, previously supervised Overwatch Produced at Blizzard Entertainment. The rest of the team includes experienced developers from Vivendi, LucasArts, Sega, and Sierra.

Both companies are embroiled in allegations of workplace misconduct, and anyone who claims to have served decades with either employer will certainly need to prove they’re not toxic. That’s if they want to attract talent.
