‘Very unique’: Michael Owen says Liverpool have no other player like the 26-year-old

Michael Owen agreed Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have a player like Luis Diaz at Liverpool as he described him as ‘very unique’.
The previous season was frustrating for Luis Diaz as he was out of action for several months in what Owen described as a “bitter blow” for the team.
The former Liverpool striker described how Diaz’s character, attitude and energy made him stand out on Merseyside, he said Premier League Productions (13.08.23 at 18:50).
After last season’s injury woes, the 26-year-old started the new Premier League campaign with a goal on Sunday.
The Reds drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge with Mohamed Salah being praised by Glenn Hoddle for the role he had played in his team as the opening goal.
Diaz benefited from that and Owen shared what he loves about the all-action forward.

“He came to Liverpool and immediately put on the red jersey and just felt at home,” said Owen.
“The way he played. The way he settled in. It was incredible from the first minute and it was a big blow when he got injured.
“Liverpool have a number of attacking options. He pushes great, his energy is great, he scores goals, gets scored and then gets back up. I love his attitude.
Whether there’s someone like him in the Liverpool squad: “No, I think he’s very unique – and he’s replacing someone like Nunez on the bench.” I think he’s a point of contact for Jurgen Klopp.”

Diaz can score in double figures in the Premier League
Last season the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli achieved double-digit results for Arsenal in the Premier League.
In Saka’s case, he’s had double-digit goals and assists, proving why he’s among the Premier League’s best.
But Diaz, if he can pull off a full campaign, will feel like he can do the same because he has the quality.
