In a Reddit thread on February 4, Vanguard player andata118 shared a clip of them encountering a weird bug. In the short video, the player mysteriously teleports across the map after nearly dying.

Confused with what happened, players continue to play as normal, where they realize they are invincible and can’t die as the opposing team repeatedly tries to kill them.

In the end, the enemy stopped firing and stared at the invincible player.

As pointed out in the thread’s comments, it turns out that andata118 died before becoming invincible – which explains the teleporting but not being in “divine mode”.

“I don’t think you teleported, you can see in the kill feed that you died from the rocket,” NormanQuacks345 said. “So you really just resurrected. I can’t explain divine mode though.. ”

Another commenter added their suspicions as to how the weird bug happened: “He’s dead and the game counts him as dead so his hitbox removal is my speculation.”

It’s not clear exactly how this error happened, but anyway, the developers of Raven Software will look to find it and fix it. It joins a growing list of problems for developers to tackle. Vanguard players take their minds by surprise after teleporting and becoming invincible in multiplayer
