Vanguard developers test new spawn system with Experimental Playlist

Call of Duty: Vanguard developers are finally testing a new spawn system as a March 25 update introduced an experimental playlist and players can provide feedback on Sledgehammer games.

Since Vanguard’s release in November 2021, players have been extremely vocal about the game’s poor spawn system and how it’s not a fair mechanic.

Since squad spawning is in the game, it means you can revive right next to a teammate no matter who is nearby, which can take away from the competitive nature of CoD.

Players have shown how bad this is and asked for changes. Good news is that when they start testing a new system in FPS, Sledgehammer Games seems to be listening.

The March 25th Vanguard update brings spawn system tests

Dedicated to fixing the FPS’ core issues, Sledgehammer Games is working to fix a major complaint with spawns.

This has led them to introduce the experimental playlist, which offers players a less random system in hopes of “fixing” the current spawn mechanic that has “failed”.

Of the Sticky Notes, SHG said spawns should “prevent players from spawning in a position where an enemy player will immediately threaten them”. They know their current one didn’t do that well, so they introduced the Experimental Playlist.

In this mode, they “modified the spawn system… With these changes, players should feel that spawns are less random, especially in objective-based modes.”

Vanguard devs want player feedback on new spawns

Vanguard February 3 update

Vanguard players can inform SHG about the new spawn system.

Another great part of this feature is that SHG is asking players to provide their feedback on how the new system is working.

You can visit theirs opinion poll, which asks a series of questions including: Are the spawns better? Are the spawns consistent? And more. There are a total of seven things the developers are looking for feedback on.

Depending on how the system works and player feedback, we could see it implemented in the core playlists of all Vanguard modes. Vanguard developers test new spawn system with Experimental Playlist
