“Aguilar later explained why Robinson killed Guillen by saying Guillen saw Robinson’s phone lock screen, which had a picture of Aguilar on it.[Robinson]told her he was worried about getting in trouble for violating army fraternization rules since Aguilar was still married to another soldier, and he hit Guillen in the head with a hammer Report.

The US Attorney’s office, with the support of the Guillen family attorney, will respond to the request of Aguilar’s legal team within weeks.

“My whole family was very upset and angry to see such a reaction late (Monday) night and very early (Tuesday) morning. Cecily Aguilar’s words are not believable and it is a shame that there is an opportunity for this criminal to defend herself after what she did to my sister’s body. Cecily Aguilar will do everything in her power to walk free as at this moment we are being denied the truth. I am waiting for the trial to begin and hopefully it will bring the truth to light. My sister was a very responsible person who would not interfere in Robinson and Aguilar’s alleged “relationship.” We really hope Vanessa gets justice, no family deserves to go through something like this. Vanessa should be here today defending her loved ones and her country,” said Vanessa Guillen’s sister Mayra.

“The American people deserve to know the truth. Cecily Aguilar will continue to do whatever it takes to get away with the heinous crime she committed. Vanessa Guillen was brutally murdered while honorably serving our country. Cecily’s selfish statements will be refuted in court, and we’ll all learn the truth and find out who were the cowards who knew what happened but sat back and did nothing when we went looking for Vanessa. We pray that Cecily will receive the maximum sentence so that justice is done for Vanessa’s family and everyone who supports justice for Vanessa,” said Guillen family lawyer Natalie Khawam.
