Valkyrae is responding to the backlash for playing Fortnite with SSSniperWolf

YouTube star Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter received backlash for declaring that she would play Fortnite with SSSniperWolf.

Valkyrae is one of the most popular live streamers on the internet. The youtube star has managed to win awards, collaborate with high fashion brands and even dive into business when she became a co-owner of 100 thieves.

But with the abundance of Ws, there must be moments when you take an L — whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Recently, however, Rae has come under fire for suggesting playing Fortnite with what appears to be a controversial content creator.

What happened to SSSniperWolf?

SSSniperwolf became embroiled in drama when she allegedly ghosted a terminally ill fan in December 2021 and couldn’t find time to call her after saying she would.

Although she tweeted on Dec. 28 that she had contacted the young supporter, critics of SSSniperwolf offered their take on the situation. They criticized her for not keeping her word at first.

Valkyrae signed an exclusive streaming deal with YouTube.

Valkyrae tweeted on April 5, 2022 that she was playing Fortnite off-stream with Pokimane and SSSniperwolf. The backlash came quickly when her community sent her tweets questioning why Rae would ever associate with SSSniperwolf, confused by her seemingly carefree admission.

In response to an aggressive, now-deleted, tweet from a supporter named @Stadish_, the YouTuber tweeted, What do you mean by that? I was not aware of their history, and I am very uninformed about everyone’s past. I’m only deleting it because I don’t want controversial comments. Please do not try to twist this in any way. “

Valkyrae stated that knowing everything about everyone is unrealistic, but she “welcomes to be informed”.

In a separate tweet, the 100 Thieves co-owner doubled down on her position, tweeting, “I’m quite ignorant and uneducated about a lot of things in life like most people, but glad to be informed!! So please don’t attack others for it. And if you’re trying to enlighten others, please do it in a friendly way.”

While the backlash to Valkyrae’s request seems to have come to an end, SSSniperwolf has yet to say anything about the whole ordeal. It will be interesting to see where their budding acquaintance goes from here after this backlash.
