Vacant benches in the Yankees-White Sox game

A week later, Tim Anderson and Josh Donaldson are still tweeting each other, and on Saturday afternoon this resulted in the benches being cleared and the bullpens emptied.

There was no brawl or ejections, but the White Sox shortstop and the Yankees hitter-designated got into a war of words after the two had a minor argument in Chicago last weekend.

They exchanged words in the third inning and again in the fifth, with Anderson running to home plate after seeing Donaldson talk to catcher Yasmani Grandal for an extended period of time before his at-bat. Several teammates had to hold Anderson back.

Both benches were cautioned, but otherwise it was just a damaging back and forth. A week ago, the two came into play on third base when Donaldson appeared to shove Anderson off base, resulting in Anderson shoving Donaldson off of him and exchanged the two words.
