USPS needs your help to keep service providers safe

GRAND VALLEY, Colo. (KREX) – Recently, local mail carriers have had to trudge through the snow to do their jobs. While mail carriers have traction boosters, postal supervisors say keeping your walkways, steps, and porches clear of snow and ice for at least 15 feet in either direction, Get your mail delivered – and keep everyone safe.
“The other thing that comes to mind is, even after you shovel, if you have a leaky gutter or maybe a leaky irrigation pipe, that can create overnight ice that sometimes suppliers “That’s what can cause them to slip and fall,” said USPS Customer Service Supervisor Chris Buzzell.
Buzzell says prevention is the best way to keep your carrier safe and improve your services.
