“Unfair”: Sky expert reacts to transfer rumors between Chelsea and Liverpool about a “special” duo

Jamie O’Hara says it’s ‘unfair’ for Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia amid Liverpool interest.
The former Premier League midfielder says both Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could use the midfield duo, which he described as “special”. Sky sports news (08/13/23).
Moises Caicedo was already pushing for a move to Arsenal in January but his wish didn’t materialize and he could now move to the other side of London.
Unsurprisingly, he will be another £100m player Sky Sports reported that this would break the UK transfer record.
As for Romeo Lavia, he is still in the Championship with Southampton, with a number of offers for the 19-year-old being rejected at Liverpool, much to the annoyance of Jamie Carragher.
Well, if Carragher was frustrated with how things were going with the Lavia deal, there’s now every chance both will end up on Chelsea’s doorstep and O’Hara shares his thoughts.

“Both need midfielders,” O’Hara said. “Chelsea are a bit tenuous at the moment. You have Enzo Fernandez.
“Then there is Caicedo, you bring him to the football club, then he will be special. I think he prefers Chelsea.
“But Liverpool also have a revamped midfield. They both need reinforcements and are both top players. Lavia and Caicedo are special.
“I think if Chelsea get both then it’s unfair. Liverpool finally raised the money. “We’ll give you £110m,” then Caicedo turns and says, “No, I’m going to Chelsea.” They never spend that money. It’s crazy how much money is being spent.”

Liverpool must act quickly
Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have been two standout acquisitions for Liverpool and will do wonders under Klopp.
But they should compete with players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Liverpool fans will rightly argue that if those two are absent, they will be missing two players in midfield.
But with a few more weeks to go before the window slams shut, they’re a long way from being able to show a face. This could end very badly, and the fault lies with the board members.
