UK LIVE weather forecast – Met Office issues yellow warning as brutal cold snap of -7C will bring 8cm of SNOW

THE MET OFFICE has issued a yellow warning for northern regions of the UK as of this morning.

The yellow ice warning applies to areas in Scotland, the East Midlands, north-east England, Yorkshire and the Humber.

The Met Office’s yellow alert warns severe weather could disrupt travel.

Meanwhile, Friday’s weather mapper WXCharts shows that biting temperatures will bring up to three inches of snow in areas of the UK.

Temperatures in Scotland hover at -6C on Thursday and are expected to drop further to -7C in some areas by Friday morning.

North Wales can expect to feel the bite as temperatures hit -5C on Thursday morning, while the rest of the UK sits between -3C and 0C.

Daytime temperatures for England and Wales reach highs of 5°C, while most of Scotland peaks at around 2 or 3°C.
