UB Football opens September 2 at No. 19 Wisconsin

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – In its 25th season since returning to the top division of Division I football, the University at Buffalo will face a big opponent on a big stage.

Wisconsin, the first opponent on UB’s non-conference schedule, was ranked 19th by The Associated Press in its preseason poll. The Bulls visit Camp Randall Stadium, one of the 20 greatest venues in college football, on September 2nd. [See full schedule below]

UB is 1-14th all-time against ranked opponents, with their only win against Ball State coming in the 2008 Mid-American Conference championship game. The Bulls are 11-1 against teams from the Big Ten after winning at Rutgers in 2018.

This is the third time in five years that UB have met a ranked opponent. The cops lost at No. 15 Penn State in 2019and at home against No. 16 Coastal Carolina in 2021the first season for UB trainer Maurice Linguist.

UB has played against a Big Ten team in eight of the last 11 years. The cops lost 31-10 in Maryland last September before finishing 7-6 to win the Camellia Bowl.

The Bulls were picked third in the MAC East in the preseason coaching poll for this season.
