Twitter blacklist victims praise Elon Musk for exposing censorship

Twitter users, who have been secretly “shadowbanned” by the social media giant under previous management, praised new CEO Elon Musk for releasing footage showing how her speech was suppressed on the platform.
professor dr Stanford University’s Jay Bhattacharya thanked Musk and independent journalist Bari Weiss for revealing Thursday night that he was placed on Twitter’s “trends blacklist” after arguing against COVID-19 lockdowns.
“Sunshine is the best disinfectant” Bhattacharya tweeted.
The health policy expert also said that “the censorship of scientific discussion allowed for policies like school closures” and harmed “a generation of children”.
“I’m curious to see the government’s role in Twitter’s suppression of Covid policy discussion,” Bhattacharya added. “We’ll see about that in time, I suppose.”
Fox News host Dan Bongino, who was added to Twitter’s “search blacklist,” angrily called the move “a couple of Soviet-style cops” during a Thursday night appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show.
“Elon Musk changed the future of all big tech companies,” he said.
On Friday morning, Bongino tweeted that he was also being targeted by Facebook, YouTube and Google Ads.

“Nevertheless, we still reach millions. Imagine what we could do without the censorship.” he wrote.
Turning Point USA radio host and conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who has secretly been given the Do Not Amplify label, tweeted Friday morning: “We’ll never know how different the country would be if they never put their thumb on the scale . ”
“All of this is evil, un-American and should be criminal” he wrote. “Musk is doing the right thing. He has done more to liberate free speech in 5 weeks than the GOP has done in 50 years.”

Thursday’s revelations came after independent journalist Matt Taibbi released internal Twitter documents last week detailing the suppression of The Post’s October 2020 story about Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.
These measures included suspending The Post for two weeks from its main Twitter account for unfounded claims that the story was based on “hacked footage”.
Twitter requested the removal of six tweets from the account, but backed down after The Post stuck and refused to comply.
