Trump trolls DeSantis for dressing the baby in a MAGA onesie for once

Former President Donald Trump trolled Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Tuesday after an old campaign ad surfaced showing DeSantis dressing his baby in a “Make America Great Again” onesie.

Trump, 76, poked fun at the 44-year-old governor’s past support as tensions between the two escalated after last week’s midterm elections.

On his platform Truth Social, the former commander in chief shared a clip from one of DeSantis’ 2018 gubernatorial campaign videos, in which he brags about Trump’s support.

“Thank you Ron!” Trump wrote alongside the video.

Trump’s post also included a Patriot Takes tweet with the caption, “Never forget Ron DeSantis ran an ad featuring his baby in a MAGA onesie and calling himself a ‘Pitbull Trump defender.'”

Video of DeSantis, narrated by his wife Casey, showed the then-congressman teaching his young children some of Trump’s catchphrases and campaign promises.

He was filmed teaching his young daughter how to say “Make America Great Again” and how to “build the wall” with blocks. Elsewhere, DeSantis was seen reading his little boy Trump’s book, The Art of the Deal.

The ad appears to be no longer available on the DeSantis YouTube page.

Tuesday’s news was the latest in a long line of jabs Trump has delivered on DeSantis in recent weeks — and came just hours before the 45th president made his “special announcement” for the 2024 presidential campaign from Mar-a-Lago should announce.

Both men are considered potential rivals for the GOP presidential nomination, but DeSantis has repeatedly fended off questions about a potential White House bid.

The governor, who was quiet when Trump taunted him, hit back on Tuesday, calling the attacks little more than “noise” as he urged critics to check “the scoreboard” of his overwhelming re-election victory.

“When you’re leading, when you’re getting things done, take incoming fire,” the governor said in response to a question about Trump’s jabs.

“I would just tell people to look at last Tuesday night’s scoreboard,” he added. “It was the biggest win in Florida State history. It wasn’t just the victory of the best governor — that was it — but we swept supermajorities into the Florida legislature.” Trump trolls DeSantis for dressing the baby in a MAGA onesie for once
