Trump releases campaign-style video after FBI raid

Just hours after the FBI searched his Mar-a-Lago estate, former President Donald Trump released an apocalyptic-sounding campaign-style video early Tuesday in which he denounced how the US had become a “failing nation.” – but promised that “the best is yet to come”. Come.”

“We are a nation in decline,” Trump begins the nearly 4-minute video posted to his Truth Social just after midnight, recounting black-and-white footage and the ominous sound of rain and thunder.

“We are a failing nation… We are a nation that has become a joke in many ways. But soon we will be big again,” he says.

Trump – who has long teased about a presidential bid in 2024 – posted the high-end production to his Truth Social just after midnight, hours after he complained that his Florida home was “raided and occupied” by the government on Monday ‘ and was ‘besieged’.

In the video, he complains that the US has “become a nation that has armed its law enforcement against the opposing political party like never before — we’ve never seen anything like it,” he said.

Trump’s speech in the video mirrored his 2017 inaugural address, in which he promised to reverse “American carnage.”

“We are a nation with the highest inflation in over 40 years, with the stock market just ending its worst first half in more than five decades,” he said of a long list of failings under his successor, President Biden.

“We are a nation with the highest energy costs in its history. We are no longer energy independent or energy dominant like we were two years ago,” he says, referring to his time in the White House.

“We are a nation begging for oil from Venezuela and Saudi Arabia. We are a nation that surrendered in Afghanistan, leaving behind $85 billion worth of dead soldiers, American citizens and the best military equipment in the world,” he notes.

He also accuses the US of “allowing Russia to devastate a country, Ukraine, killing hundreds of thousands of people” and predicts that “it will only get worse”.

“We are a nation that will allow Iran to build a massive nuclear weapon and China to use the trillions and trillions of dollars it has stolen from the United States to build a military that can rival ours.

“We are a nation that has not been respected around the world in the last two years.”

We no longer allow free speech at home – and a country “whose education system is at the bottom of every list,” he claims.

“We are a nation that has become a joke in many ways. But soon we’ll be great again,” Trump promises — with stirring strings and color imagery to match the sudden shift to an inspirational tone.

“It’s hardworking patriots like you who built our country – and it’s hardworking patriots like you who will save our country,” he told his supporters.

“There is no mountain that we cannot climb; there is no peak that we cannot reach; there is no challenge we cannot master; There’s no victory we can’t have,” he promises.

“We will not bend, we will not break, we will never, never, never give in. We will never give in, we will never give up and we will never, ever give in.

“We will never let you down. As long as we are confident and united, the tyrants we fight don’t stand a chance,” he says.

“Because we are Americans, and Americans kneel alone before God — and it’s time to start talking about greatness again in our country.”
