Now Tristan, 31, has insisted he was “abused” during his child support fight with Maralee, also 31.
The basketball star took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday to share a cryptic quote.
Written on a white background, the message read: “Your greatest test will be how you deal with people who have abused you.”
Tristan ended the post with two secret emojis and one talking emoji.
After welcoming his third child with mistress Maralee Nichols on December 1, the new mom demanded “$47,000 a month in child support” for her son, which he reportedly “refuses” to pay.
FAN GAME
Over the weekend, the athlete shared a few street snaps on his Instagram page, leading fans to tease him for neglecting his latest addition.
He wore a large gold necklace and a Supreme t-shirt paired with sunglasses in both casual pictures.
He captioned the post, “They say good things take time, that’s why I’m always late,” with a devilish, silent face and a winking emoji.
Fans flooded the comments section, with one writing, “Late on child support,” while another added, “Oh that’s why child support is late?!!”
“Always late to pay your baby mama’s checks,” wrote a third.
“Always excuses!” slammed a fourth.
SHOCKING SCANDAL
Maralee gave birth to son Theo on December 1 after she had an affair with Tristan while he was dating exclusively Khloe Kardashian, 37.
She claimed last month that he refused to pay child support and made “no attempt” to meet her son.
Maralee’s rep claimed Tristan “did nothing” to support the baby despite reportedly being ordered to pay her over $40,000 a month.
“Despite media reports to the contrary, Tristan Thompson has done nothing to support his son,” Harvey Englander told Page Six last month.
“He has not attempted to meet her son, nor has he provided any financial support.”
In early February, she asked him to pay her $47,000 a month and $1 million in legal fees.
In documents obtained by Us Weekly, Maralee claimed that the Chicago Bulls player had “an income of $9.7 million alone.”
New York marriage attorney Morghan Leia Richardson told HollywoodLife that Tristan will have to pay until the newborn turns 18.
GROWING FAMILY
Tristan also shares three-year-old daughter True with his ex Khloe.
He is also the father of 5-year-old son Prince, whom he shares with ex Jordan Craig, with whom he currently pays child support.
TRISTAN’S EXCUSE
Back in January 2022, Tristan admitted he is a father to Maralee’s baby son a month after his birth and apologized to Khloe for “humiliating” her.
“Today the paternity test results revealed that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son,” he wrote.
The basketball player initially claimed his relationship with Maralee was a one-night hookup before admitting they had met for sex on a number of occasions.

He said in legal documents that they had an affair that lasted four months, from December 2020 to March 2021.
After months of silence about Tristan’s scandal, Khloe addressed the topic during a cover story for Variety and ahead of her Hulu series.
